Girls Who Run is a podcast and community founded by two women passionate about running. Through personal stories, conversations, and shared experiences, the project encourages women to see running not only as a sport, but as a space for self-discovery, resilience, and connection.
The visual identity was designed to capture this sense of movement while creating a recognizable and flexible brand capable of growing across digital platforms, social media, and future community initiatives.
The challenge was to create an identity that felt energetic without becoming overly competitive. Rather than focusing on performance or athletic achievement, the brand needed to communicate running as an accessible, empowering, and collective experience.
The visual language also had to support the podcast's conversational tone while remaining adaptable across different formats and content.
The concept draws inspiration from the urban landscape—the environment where the community meets, trains, and creates memories. Streets become more than a backdrop; they represent movement, freedom, and the shared experiences that connect runners.
This perspective informed a visual identity that balances boldness with approachability, combining contemporary design with subtle references to city life and movement.
A high-impact typographic logo establishes a strong and confident presence, while its carefully considered spacing introduces rhythm and reinforces the idea of continuous movement.
The supporting visual system expands this concept through graphic elements inspired by marathon routes, street signage, arrows, stickers, tape, and urban markings. Together, these assets create a dynamic identity capable of adapting across social media, podcast materials, merchandise, and community events.
The color palette combines vibrant tones with neutral references drawn from the urban environment, creating contrast while reinforcing the project's energetic yet welcoming personality.
The result is a visual identity that reflects the spirit of the Girls Who Run community—bold, approachable, and full of movement. Designed as a flexible brand system rather than a static logo, the identity provides a consistent foundation for the podcast while supporting its long-term growth across multiple touchpoints.
